As teachers, we all know that public education is sometimes criticized by the media and those responsible for making education policy decisions. That’s why I want to thank Charles Honey and the School News Network for their continuous effort to shine a light on what’s working in public education across West Michigan.

Sometimes it can be easy to get discouraged by the budget-cuts and bureaucracy of public schooling, so it just means that much more when efforts like this are made to celebrate the things that really count.
